David Cook Sings “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”

The producers chose the Aerosmith song “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” for David Cook to sing as his final song tonight.

Randy loved the song choice, but the performance was okay. Very predictable.
Paula, “See you in the finals. That’s what I predict.”
Simon, “David Cook wins the night.” Oh yes he does. Loved it!

See you next week David. It’s going to be an amazing finale.

Syesha Sings “Hit Me Up”

The producer’s choice for Syesha was the Gia Ferrell song “Hit Me Up,” which appeared on the Happy Feet soundtrack.

Randy could see her doing a song like that, but it was just alright.
Paula thought she did the song very well, but she didn’t think it was the kind of song to define her as Syesha the artist. She’s also not sure it will get her into the finals.
Simon felt she had her best moment last weekend. He felt it was fun and young, but was forgettable.

David Archuleta Sings “Longer”

David Archuleta’s last song of night was the Dan Fogelberg song “Longer,” which was picked by the show’s producers.

Randy felt it was an interesting song choice. It was another hot one.
Paula felt it was a lovely performance.
Simon felt he sang the song very well, however, he felt the song and the lyrics were absolutely horrible. It was gooey. *raises eyebrow* He felt he did enough to make it through to the finals next week. Can you say David and David next week?

David Cook Sings “Dare You to Move”

David Cook chose the song “Dare You to Move” from Switchfoot, as his song of choice tonight. Smart choice!

Randy thought it was a great song choice. He didn’t think it was his best. He thought it was a bit pitchy.
Paula wanted more because it felt like he was just getting to the beginning when it ended.
Simon didn’t have much to add. He thought everyone had an okay round.

Syesha Sings “Fever”

Randy felt it was a very interesting song choice, but she sang it well.
Paula was surprised by her song choice too. She wasn’t sure it showed who Syesha is as an artist.
Simon felt she will regret that decision tomorrow.

David Archuleta Sings “With You”

David A.’s song choice for the night was “With You” by Chris Brown. Finally, something young and current. This could be a very good thing for him.

Randy applaud that he chose something new and young. But he wasn’t sure it was the right song.
Paula felt it was perfect. She thinks he should be singing songs like this.
Simon applaud that he didn’t do a ballad, however, he felt it was like a chihuahua trying to be a tiger. Meaning: It’s not really you.

David Cook Sings “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face”

Simon Cowell chose the song “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face” by Roberta Flack, for David Cook to sing.

Randy feels he could sing anything. He loved the high note at the end. However, he wished that Simon had picked something with more rock in it.
Paula told him he was her second favorite person to hear sing it.
Simon may have sounded a bit biased, but he felt it was one of his best performances. Amen to that!! Round one goes to Cook and Cowell.

Syesha Mercado Sings “If I Ain’t Got You”

Randy Jackson chose the Alicia Keys song “If I Ain’t Got You” for Syesha Mercado to sing.

Randy felt she did an amazing job in it. He was happy that she’s peaking at the right time and that’s why she’s in the number three spot.
Paula was very proud that she’s the last lady standing there.
Simon felt she sang it very well too. He wished that Randy had chosen something different. He felt she looked gorgeous.

David Archuleta Sings “So It Goes”

Randy was happy that Paula chose a dope song. He thinks David can sing whatever and that he’s in it to win it.
Paula felt it was a pure and stunning performance.
Simon thought it was very good, but didn’t contain any surprises. A bit predictable. He didn’t feel it was outstanding.
