“Proud Mary” Critiques:
Randy laughed at the difference that three weeks makes. She showed up and was in the zone. He said she had good timing and was showing the heat.
Paula thought she looked like a star.
Simon apologized for putting a slight damper on things. He thought it was a bad, shrieky version — a bad impersonation. He didn’t have fun.

“A Change is Gonna Come” Critiques:
Randy loved the first song, but did not love the second one as much. He didn’t love the music or vocal arrangement. It felt all disconnected by trying to be something it wasn’t. It fell flat.
Paula thought it was beautiful how she utilized her vocals.
Simon told her had to be fair and agree with Paula. He felt Randy got it completely and utterly wrong.

“I Shot the Sheriff” Critiques:
Randy thought it was very karaoke. It was just okay and nothing special about it.
Paula never saw him perform more to the audience then he did tonight, but she wasn’t crazy about the performance or song.
Simon thought it was utterly atrocious. It’s a song you don’t touch. He thought the singing was bad and it was like a first round audition massacre. He thought the only similarities Jason had with Bob Marley was the hair.

“Mr. Tambourine Man” Critiques:
Randy felt he wasn’t in the zone tonight.
Paula felt it is what it is. It didn’t blow her away, but he blows her away.
Simon thought he should pack his suitcase.

1-”Baba O’Reilly” originally performed and recorded by The Who.
2-”Hungry Like the Wolf” originally performed and recorded by Duran Duran.

“Hungry Like the Wolf” Critiques”
Randy thought it was an okay choice and a solid performance. Just okay.
Paula thought that his “Hungry Like the Wolf” left her with a big appetite.
Simon thought it was good, but he did understand where Randy was coming from. And he thought it was good enough to make it through to next week.

“Baba O’Reilly” Critiques:
Randy thought there was something going on with him tonight. But the second song was more David then the first song.
Paula just wants more David Cook.
Simon said, “Welcome back David Cook.”

Hopefully having performed first won’t hurt David. Unfortunately, there are many people that feel whomever performs first generally goes home the next night.

2-”Stand by Me” originally performed and recorded by Ben E. King.

“Stand by Me” Critiques:
Randy was happy that he took the stage to win it. He loved it. It was hot!
Paula admired that he communicated with his eyes and taking in everything that they, the judges, say.
Simon thought he could have whistled the song and it would have sounded better then Jason Castro’s song. He felt he did struggle at the end of the song. Best performance so far.

Randy thought it was another strong performance. He liked how he caressed each word.
Paula felt it was one of her favorite performances by him.
Simon felt he crushed the competition tonight.
