Syesha Mercado took the stage tonight as the first performer with her guest, Seal. Awesome!

The second performance of the night came from Jason Castro. He performed his hit performance “Hallelujah.”

After the top 6 girls performed the song “She Works Hard for the Money” Donna Summer took the stage to sing her new single, “Stamp Your Feet.” Following that the girls joined Summer to sing her hit song “Last Dance.”

Carly Smithson and Michael Johns took the stage together tonight to sing the song “The Letter.”

The next guest performance of the night was Bryan Adams. He took the stage after the top 6 guys sang the songs “Summer of 69” and “Heaven.” Nice!

Brooke White took the stage tonight with Graham Nash to sing the song “Teach YourChildren Well.” Perfect song for her.
Jonas Brothers took the stage next as the teen girls in the crowd went nuts.
The next guest appearance was from One Republic singing their hit song “Apologize.”

Jordin Sparks returned to the Idol stage tonight to sing her new single.

Carrie Underwood made an appearance on the show tonight to sing her current single “Last Name.”

The first guest appearance tonight was from Mike Myers as Guru Pitka, the spiritual advisor of the contestants. Pitka hails from Hairinmykeister.

His prediction on who will win tonight? It will be an US citizen, 16-28 years of age, not an employee of Fox and will be named David.

You don’t say? That’s pretty spot on if you ask me.
Jimmy Kimmel appeared on the show tonight to show the highlights of this season. He attacked Ryan, Randy, Paula and Simon. Too funny!! The Simon insult compilation video was priceless.

Jordin Sparks was the next guest appearance of the night. She promoted the American Idol Experience that can be found at Disney. Sounds fun.

The next appearance was classic. Gladys Knight singing “Midnight Train to Georgia” alongside Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr.

David Cook and David Archuleta took the stage together for the first tonight to sing the Chad Kroeger song “Hero” from the Spider-man soundtrack.

The top 12 took the stage tonight, alongside the stars of So You Think You Can Dance, to sing the Temptations song “Get Ready.”

David Archuleta’s song choice tonight was “Imagine”, which he sang earlier in the season and received rave reviews for.

Randy was really and happy that it was both David’s on the stage. He felt he was the best singer of season 7.

Paula was left speechless, just like the last time. She felt he was stunning tonight.

Simon thought tonight was one of the great finals. He felt Archuleta came out to win and everyone witnessed a knockout.

Based on judges comments, mainly Simon’s, it would indicate that Archuleta will win the competition. However, it’s up to the fans. Only tomorrow will tell.

David Cook’s last song of the night was “The World I Know” by Collective Soul.

Aww! He cried!

Randy loved that it was a nice, sensitive side of David. Very nice job.

Paula loved it. She stood up and applauded him.

Simon told him he is one of the nicest, most sincere contestants they’ve had. But, he thought it was the wrong song choice for tonight. He thought he should have sang “Billie Jean” or “Hello.”

David Archuleta chose the song “In This Moment” from the song’s submitted to the songwriter’s contest.

Randy wasn’t crazy about the song, but David was so in the zone that it was hot.

Paula felt it was another heartfelt performance.

Simon loved the egotistical lyric. He also felt that he picked the better song. And again, he felt the round went to Archuleta.

David Cook’s second song tonight is “Dream Big”, one of the songs contributed to the songwriters contest.

Randy thought the song was okay, but what made it work was his face. He hit the notes.

Paula thought this was a great way to take a song that no one knows and make others fall in love with it.

Simon thought it was a bit of a lightweight. He thought the end was okay. He didn’t think it felt like a winning moment. He gave it a 6 1/2 out of 10.

Clive’s pick for David Archuleta was the song “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me” by Elton John.

Awesome song!

Randy thought it was flawless and molten hot. Crazy vocals. Best performance of the season.
Paula got chills. She thought it was a beautiful performance.
Simon thought he was okay last week, but this performance was his best so far. Round one goes to Archuleta.

Even I have to concede that he did great!

David Archuleta won the coin toss after the show last week and elected to go second. So, up first tonight is the rocker, David Cook.
David’s first song tonight was chosen by Clive Davis and he chose “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” by U2.

Randy thought it was a great way to start off the duel. He loved the note at the end.
Paula loved it. She thought he had arrived.
Simon thought it was phenomenal.
