  Syesha Mercado was the second performer of the night and she chose the followings songs to sing:

  1-”Proud Mary” originally performed and recorded by CCR and a cover by Tina Turner.
  2-”A Change is Gonna Come” originally performed and recorded by Sam Cooke.

  “Proud Mary” Critiques:
  Randy laughed at the difference that three weeks makes. She showed up and was in the zone. He said she had good timing and was showing the heat.
  Paula thought she looked like a star.
  Simon apologized for putting a slight damper on things. He thought it was a bad, shrieky version — a bad impersonation. He didn’t have fun.

  “A Change is Gonna Come” Critiques:
  Randy loved the first song, but did not love the second one as much. He didn’t love the music or vocal arrangement. It felt all disconnected by trying to be something it wasn’t. It fell flat.
  Paula thought it was beautiful how she utilized her vocals.
  Simon told her had to be fair and agree with Paula. He felt Randy got it completely and utterly wrong.

  Nice guys..make the poor girl cry.
