Syesha Mercado was the second to last person to take the stage tonight. She chose the song, “I Will Always Love You” off of the Dolly album, Jolene. Whitney Houston also sang this song in the movie, The Bodyguard from 1992. It starred Whitney along with Kevin Costner.
Syesha kept the song very simple and mixed Dolly and Whitney’s versions in together to make a unique performance.
Randy felt she did pretty good. Paula told her she looked beautiful too. She thinks Syesha is growing and connecting with the audience. Simon, well Simon, wished she hadn’t sang it. He felt the first part was good but the second paled in comparison to Whitney’s version. *Shakes head*
