Chikezie Sings “If Only For One Night”

Up next was Chikezie singing the 1985 Luther Vandross song, “If Only For One Night.” He chose to do another ballad even though he’s received flack for doing so in the past. Randy thought it was interesting that he followed Syesha with the song he did. Her song was young feeling and Chikezie’s was very old school. Not hip and cool. He felt it was boring. Paula disagreed. Chikezie is a throwback and it’s a good thing. She felt he did a great job with the textures of his vocals. Simon thought he sang it well however he felt the performance was cheesy. Chikezie said he was singing it to the audience and Simon contradicted him by saying he was singing it for himself. He felt Chikezie needs to show his personality. Randy could be heard from the end of the table saying they agree.
